Imagine Person A is kidnapped by Person C and begins to develop Stockholm Syndrome as a coping mechanism for the abuse they face. Finally, A is rescued and gets to return home to Person B, their lover. However Person A is emotionally scarred beyond belief and still harbours some feelings for Person C, which begins to complicate the relationship between Person A and B.
