My plot bunny was simply that Vyrthur managed to defeat or kill DB and Serana, and decided he'd had enough of sitting around. His bitterness prompts him to attack his own brother. And defile him atop the wayshrine, while gloating that Auri-El did not protect him, and that the deaths of Serana and the DB are on Gelebor's head.
I would really like a first defiant, then defeated and broken Gelebor, and a Vyrthur with a twisted sense of affection. But please don't have Vyrthur just kill him at the end D:
