One more day, she tells herself. One more day, and she'll be out of this godforsaken desert and back where she--yes, back where she belongs. But she told herself that yesterday, too, as well as the day before, and she seems no closer now to reaching the end of this journey that she did when she started. She suspects she's going to die out here, and she wonders if anyone will even find her body.
If anyone will even know she's gone.
