Canonically, Voldemort asks Dumbledore for the DADA job in 1967; he is turned down. The Marauders, Snape, & Lily attend Hogwarts from 1971 - 1978.

Give me an AU in which the Mauraders, Snape, & Lily attended a Hogwarts at which Lord Voldemort actually was the DADA professor.
